“ A charming, welcoming & your best breakfast/lunch restaurant in Irvington, VA. Here, the great staff know their regular customers, serve the freshest foods to order as you sip on delicious coffee. We enjoyed The Local so much that we returned each day of our stay nearby. While you wait for your delicious breakfast or lunch (best chicken salad ever!) browse through a book from their new "Book Club" selection. Highly recommend: Salmon on bagel, Chicken with salad, Breakfast egg, sausage sandwich. They will also pack for to take on the road. This establishment has a mission statement as a gathering place, gallery to support local artist, opportunity & fair staff wages, maintain environmentally sustainable presence when possible while delivering quality coffee & freshest ingredients. Yesterday, I got the avocado toast, and my friend got a chia bowl (granola with apple). Both hit the spot. Staff is always cheerful, and it's a serious go-to place. ”

“ Amazing food, every time! So delicious! Establishment can be quite cramped when busy, and you aren’t guaranteed to get a table. It does take a long time to get food BUT... though I tend to start feeling frustrated while waiting, I am ALWAYS delighted when my order is served. It is worth the wait every single time! They have a disclaimer on their menu board saying they make every effort to use quality ingredients and make orders fresh, so service is slow. It’s NOT FAST FOOD... and I appreciate that. Seriously, I’ve never had a better panini elsewhere. Just make sure you aren’t in a rush if you choose to order here. I knocked a star off atmosphere for limited and cramped seating indoors, and a star off service just because they tend to be so busy behind the counter there’s not much in the way of service or customer interaction. They are diligently making amazing foods though, and polite for the limited interactions, so I’m definitely not complaining, just trying to give honest feedback since I’m being asked to rate those specific categories. The person I was dining with on my last trip was experiencing some anxiety due to our table being right by the order/register area and we were enveloped in people standing and waiting to make or receive orders. When we finally got our food, we were not able to stay to dine in as he needed to escape and was compelled to offer our little table to some older ladies standing. Admirable, thoughtful and generous of him but for me it was kinda a bummer bc then I had to eat that delicious, perfect panini in the car. Mentioning this for those who might want a heads up on potential situations like that, or need to consider for social anxiety or neurodivergent overstimulation. All that said, 5 star food, and highly recommend! ”
“ Cute cafe with patio seating outside which was nice on a sunny day. The iced mocha latte was delicious. Strong but not bitter, good mocha flavor, not overly sweet and not overloaded with ice. We will stop again if we ever travel through this town again! ”
